BIO
Dr. Yoon Hwa is an assistant professor in the School of Electrical, Computer and Energy Engineering at Arizona State University. He received his Ph.D. in Material Science from Seoul National University in South Korea in 2013, and worked at University of California Berkeley and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory as a postdoc in 2014-2018. During his Ph.D. and Postdoc, his research effort was mainly dedicated to developing high specific energy next generation rechargeable batteries by innovative strategies for rational design of the energy materials or the devices. In 2019-2020, he worked on laser-based 3D printing technologies for metals as a specialist in the Materials Science and Engineering Department at University of California Berkeley. His research at ASU is particularly focused on applying advanced material/device manufacturing techniques to energy storage & conversion devices.
